I welcomed the new year with my family this year, as I’ve done the past 25 years of my life. This year, instead of making multiple New Years’ resolutions that are hard to stick with, I decided to change it up. I am going to make 2022 my best year ever! And I’m inviting you to join me with this New Year Challenge.
Why change it up this year?
After so many years of failed attempts to stick to resolutions, I wondered if there was anything that would make this new year better than the last few years. (If you want to check out those resolutions, here are 2020 and 2021)That’s when I realized I could take a different approach to my resolutions this year. Instead of following one big New Year Resolution, I decided to develop multiple little goals. After the heartache and loneliness from the past two years, I decided this year would be the one to switch things up.
How am I going to do it?
I decided to use mini-goals. At school, we work a lot with SMART goals to make the most of our education, which inspired me to do the same thing in my life. With a different theme each month, the week’s goals will line up with those themes. Below is a template to create your year of mini-goals for this New Year Challenge. (I’ll be posting mine over on Instagram, so check it out here!)
Another thing I’m going to do is say yes to opportunities. I am naturally a worrier, and I worry about my family more than I should. It has caused me to pass on opportunities to live my life more often than not, and this year I want to change that. If I come across a chance I can afford, I will take it.
Challenge Yourself
If you still haven’t decided on your New Year resolutions, join me with my New Year Challenge! Download your template below and start making 2022 your year.
I posted my New Year Challenge right next to my dream board. I look at this board every day to remind myself of what’s essential and what I am working towards. To be the most successful with your New Year Challenge, I suggest putting yours somewhere you will see it every day (think about your kitchen or bathroom) to help you follow through. Don’t forget to leave a comment below or over on Instagram, Facebook, or Pinterest to show me how your New Year Challenge is going!
Wrapping things up
Trying to follow through with new year resolutions can be challenging, so using mini-goals each week to live a better life this year is promising. Having a New Year Challenge is new to me, and I hope having this community will help keep me more on track this year!
